The sculpture is inspired by the Chinese character "家" (family). The character's upper part, "宀", refers to a house, while "豕", refers to a pig. In Chinese's traditional culture, it is believed that being able to raise pigs signifies that the family is well-off. Freeman Lau tried to visualise the feeling of being blessed and transformed it into an image of two people standing hand-in-hand, that was the Chinese character "喆" (happiness). The sculpture was named "豕喆" (Shi Zhe), symbolising a sweet and close-knit family.
